Question 1

How does Desi Guide verify Halal or Zabihah certifications?

Accepted Answer

Our verification process combines documentation submission (halal board certificate, supplier invoices) with physical visits conducted by our local Ambassador Field Scouts. Listings display badges indicating whether the meat is Hand-Slaughtered Zabihah, Machine-Cut Halal, or certified pure vegetarian.

Question 2

Can I purchase event tickets directly on Desi Guide?

Accepted Answer

Yes! For certified partner events (concerts, comedy tours, Holi/Diwali galas), you can purchase tickets securely via our integrated Stripe checkout and receive instant digital QR passes on your mobile device.

Question 3

How do I protect my privacy in Matrimony listings?

Accepted Answer

Desi Guide Matrimony uses a privacy-first biodata shielding system. Your direct phone number and contact details remain hidden until you mutually accept an interest request from another verified member.

Question 4

How do I claim my existing restaurant or business listing?

Accepted Answer

Search for your business on Desi Guide. If it displays an "Unclaimed" badge, click "Claim This Business". You will be prompted to verify ownership through business phone verification or tax registration/utility bill upload in our merchant portal.

Question 5

What is the Digital Menu Board feature for restaurants?

Accepted Answer

Desi Guide provides restaurant owners with a cloud-connected digital signage controller. You can plug a Fire TV stick or smart browser into your restaurant TV to display dynamic, beautifully animated menu boards that update immediately whenever you change prices or mark items sold out in your dashboard.

Question 6

Are there monthly fees to list my business on Desi Guide?

Accepted Answer

Standard business listings and presence in our US directory are 100% free! We offer optional premium upgrades for sponsored search placement, advanced analytics, and custom CRM deal campaigns.

Question 7

What does an Ambassador Scout do?

Accepted Answer

Ambassador Scouts are vetted community members who discover, audit, and photograph local South Asian businesses in their US metro area. They ensure accurate business hours, halal certifications, and help family-owned businesses claim their profiles.

Question 8

How does the merchant handover process work for Scouts?

Accepted Answer

When an Ambassador scouts an unclaimed business, it is marked as managed by that scout. Once the verified business owner claims the profile, a seamless handover occurs in the workspace, and the Ambassador earns community karma and platform rewards.

How do I reset my account password?

Visit the Login page and click "Forgot Password?". Enter your registered email address, and you will receive a secure password reset link valid for 60 minutes.
